PRESS RELEASE – 18 August 2017
Murarrie-based JBM Projects has taken out the Master Builders (Qld) Award for a Commercial Building up to $5 million for its fitout work on the Seascape Bar and Restaurant at Surfers Paradise, Gold Coast.
The project involved bringing a restaurant, bistro and bar to life with impeccable attention to detail and high quality architectural joinery including a coral feature wall handcrafted by the team at JBM Projects.
JBM Projects Managing Director Jason McRostie said the project was a true collaboration.
“Our aim was to create a high quality project that matched the breathtaking ocean views. We are delighted to have our workmanship recognised by the Master Builders Award,” said Mr McRostie.
“The Seascape design involves a hand-crafted coral feature wall made from Australian timber, bespoke furniture and floor to ceiling glass windows to capture the view,” he added.
“JBM Projects delivered a restaurant fitout that matched our vision and focus of uncompromising excellence. Their attention to detail and collaborative approach in resolving design details and challenging on site complexities was unwavering. We are very pleased with the end result and the recognition of our restaurant with the Master Builders Award,” Fouad and Eddie Eid, Owner Seascape Restaurant.
Owner Jason McRostie, a cabinet maker by trade, has operated JBM Projects for over 15 years and said that from day one he wanted to grow a shopfitting company that prided itself on quality finishes, on-time delivery and quality relationships. Plus he wanted to work his way up to win projects at the luxury end of the market.
“When I started, it was just me. I knew that if I treated every client as an opportunity to excel it would pay off. Like the simple oven shelf that I made for Dean Merlo that turned into complete fitouts for four Merlo Café Bars across Brisbane,” said Mr McRostie.
“I have since grown the business and have a management team of exceptional people, professional tradespeople across Australia and proven systems that we have refined along the way. Having our work recognised by winning Master Builders Awards over the years has propelled us into more quality opportunities,” he added.
JBM Projects has amassed an impressive client list including Crown Casino (Spa and Fitness Centre Perth), Townsville Casino for the Colonial Leisure Group, Duxton Hotel Refurbishment Perth, Harvey Norman, Terry White Chemists, Mountain Design, Navala Restaurant, Nandos and the award-winning $3 million restaurant Seascape on the Gold Coast.
“We have our sights set upon the nation’s best projects, “said Jason.
“For anybody out there who is starting or growing a trade business, I would say build a reputation and don’t compromise on your brand. Then the right people will want to come and work for your company and you will win the right projects. Visualise what you want to deliver and don’t ever compromise,” said Mr McRostie.
